Prabhas starrer upcoming mythological drama, Adipurush, has been making headlines lately for its cast. While Prabhas will be seen playing the titular character with Saif Ali Khan playing the demon king, Lankesh, the search for the female lead has been the longest for the makers. However, the latest developments have it that Kriti Sanon is likely to be the leading lady.
The makers of Adipurush have been looking for an A-lister who can provide them with bulk dates. However, despite Kiara Advani being their first preference, she couldn’t sign the dotted line owing to her previous work commitments. After Kiara, the makers reportedly approached Anushka Sharma to play the part but she refuted such rumours saying that currently, her only focus is her upcoming child and family.
After Kiara and Anushka out of the picture, a source close to the development of the movie informs that the makers are in talks with Kriti Sanon to be paired opposite Prabhas in the epic saga. As per the reports, the name of the leading lady was supposed to be announced on the occasion of Dussehra considering the mythological movie revolves around the events of Ramayana, however, the makers are in two minds which led to cancel the plans.
Helmed by Om Raut, Adipurush stars Prabhas in the lead role with Saif Ali Khan playing the antagonist. While the details are still under wraps, the early information suggests that the movie will be a modern take on the mythological story of Lord Rama and demon king, Ravana.
