Bollywood actress Kriti Sanon is currently one of the busiest in the industry with several big-bannered and anticipated projects in her kitty. While the actress recently wrapped the filming of the horror-comedy, Bhediya, with Varun Dhawan, her ambitious woman-centric project, Mimi, has been lined up for a release for a long time.

Kriti Sanon starrer Mimi is a social drama featuring the actress as a surrogate mother. The Laxman Utekar directorial wrapped up its production last year but couldn’t be released due to the ongoing pandemic. While the makers were planning to release the movie in theatres this year in July, the second and more severe wave of Coronavirus has left the country devastated. Since a theatrical release of the movie is not an option in the near future, the makers have finally decided to go for a direct-digital release.

According to a source close to the development of the movie, filmmaker Dinesh Vijan has carried out a deal with a streaming giant for the digital release of Mimi. The report informs that the filmmaker has lined his other projects for a digital release as well along with Mimi with a good profit.

Helmed by Laxman Utekar, Mimi features Kriti Sanon alongside Evelyn Edwards, Pankaj Tripathi and Sai Tamhankar in key roles.
