Shashank Khaitan directorial comedy-drama, Mr Lele, has been going through uncertainty for the longest. The movie was announced last year with the first look poster featuring Varun Dhawan, however, the actor walked out of the movie and it was on the brink of being shelved. Later, the movie was revived with Vicky Kaushal playing the lead.
While the makers have been making many adjustments to the old project’s script to suit the new cast, the project is getting back on its track with newer developments. Before the lockdown, Jahnvi Kapoor and Bhumi Pednekar were to play the key roles along with Varun Dhawan. However, Shashank Khaitan has decided to move forward with a completely new team and Kiara Advani has been approached to play the part and she has given her nod.
The movie is expected to go on the floor by the end of this year in a month-long start to finish schedule. The movie will reunite Kiara Advani and Vicky Kaushal after their successful OTT stint in Lust Stories.
