The show is a reboot of 2001 super hit show ‘Kasautii Zindagii Kay’ by the same team starring Shweta Tiwari, Cezzane Khan, Ronit Roy under the banner of Ekta Kapoor’s ‘Balaji telefilms’. The show had a 8 year long run, one of the longest and most successful shows of the Balaji television shows era.
This has been the most eagerly awaited promo of all in the recent times. After all the humongous scale promotions done for the show, the expectations are really high, so is the excitement. The team has surely been successful in hitting your nostalgia in the most efficient and effective way possible.
The Anurag Prerna Love saga of togetherness and separation begins tomorrow. The promo reveals the premise of the show which will send the viewers a trip down nostalgia wherein Anurag – Prerna’s fathers are excited to get their kids married to each other while on the other hand Anurag’s Mother is against getting her son married to anyone below their status or class.
We see glimpses of Durga puja, Anurag – Prerna and their encounters in the background while their fate is being decided by their respective parents and of course we have Komolika, whose face hasn’t been revealed yet.
How can Anurag-Prerna love story be complete without the evil vamp ‘Komolika’? played by Urvashi Dholakia previously. She set the bar really high for the most stylish and devious ‘Vamp’ on Indian television, made the character an iconic one with her portrayal. We hear Hina Khan will be filling in her shoes for this iconic character in the show.
It would be interesting to see how the team makes this reboot work in today’s time with too many pre-conceived notions with regards to the show, its plot, characters and also the protagonists. However, the hype around the show from fans and non- fans equally, shows how curious everyone is to watch this reboot play out. Love it, hate it, one can’t ignore it.
