A month back, Bollywood’s fittest actor Akshay Kumar was heavily criticized for his association with a pan masala brand. While the actor issued an apology after major backlash from his fans, many senior Bollywood celebrities continue to endorse such brands and products. However, the rising superstar Kartik Aaryan has reportedly refused to be a part of the pan masala brand universe.
According to sources, Kartik Aaryan was offered a lucrative offer of 9 crore rupees to endorse a pan masala brand but the actor refused the offer despite the industry-leading pay. His move has moved his fans and ensured the trust that he cares for what he endorses to his audience.
Former chairperson of the censor board and producer Pahlaj Nihalani also endorses Kartik Aayan’s decision not to endorse harmful products. “Paan masala is killing people. Being encouraged to take gutka and paan masala by Bollywood role models is definitely damaging to the nation’s health,” he said. Nihalani also added that Indian law forbids the CBFC from granting certification to paan masala and alcohol ads. Therefore, the ads for these products being broadcast are illegal.
On the work front, Kartik Aaryan will be reuniting with Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 co-actor Kiara Advani for Sajid Nadiadwala’s Satyaprem Ki Katha. The intense romantic love story will be helmed by National Award winner Sameer Vidwans and is slated for release on June 29, 2023.
