Kartik Aaryan has made a name for himself in the Indian film industry over the past 15 years. As his popularity surged, he became the face of several major brands. However, Kartik has always been vocal about his ethical stance on endorsements. In a recent interview with The Lallantop, he candidly discussed his discomfort with promoting fairness creams and pan-masala products. Kartik revealed that he turned down such endorsements, including ‘supari,’ because he believed that endorsing them was morally wrong for him. This decision underscores his commitment to responsible advertising and his desire to set a positive example for his audience.
Kartik recalls not renewing his contract with a fairness brand after a brief endorsement. He said, “I ran an ad for a face cream a long time ago, but I discontinued it. I wasn’t convinced by it. I didn’t renew it because I realized it may be incorrect.” The actor went on to say, “I’ve been offered a number of brands, but I’ve declined. Like the supari and pan masala brands. I can’t relate to such things. And I try to avoid these things as much as possible. I can’t tell who is right or wrong because everyone has their own way of thinking. But this does not match with my ideas.”
Kartik will appear in Kabir Khan’s next, Chandu Champion, a sports biography of former Indian Paralympic gold winner Murlikant Petkar. The actor went through bodily transformations to embody the athlete in the epic drama. Alongside Kartik, Bhuvan Arora, Yashpal Sharma, Vijay Raaz, Aniruddh Dave, Palak Lalwani, and other actors play important roles in the film. The movie was shot in London, Wai, and Jammu & Kashmir and will be released on June 14 in theatres.
Kartik will next appear in Anees Bazmee’s Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 co-starring Tripti Dimri and Vidya Balan in significant roles. The horror-comedy is scheduled for release on October 31, 2024.
