Kartik Aaryan has officially begun filming his highly anticipated fantasy adventure, Naagzilla. The actor shared the exciting update on November 1, 2025, by posting a photo of himself holding the clapboard from the film’s mahurat shot. Captioning the image, he wrote, “1 Year of #BhoolBhulaiyaa3 Day 1 of #Naagzilla Har Har Mahadev / 14th August 2026,” confirming the film’s Independence Day 2026 release.
The clapboard revealed that Naagzilla is directed by Fukrey filmmaker Mrighdeep Singh Lamba, with cinematography by Amalendu Chaudhary. The film is being produced by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions in collaboration with Mahaveer Jain Films, marking the beginning of a long-term association between the two production houses to create large-scale, high-concept entertainers.

According to insiders, Kartik started shooting in Mumbai on November 1, with the team fully prepared after months of pre-production. The film is being mounted on a grand scale, with plans to meet its announced release date of August 15, 2026.
While the female lead has not yet been officially announced, sources hinted that the casting will be a pleasant surprise for fans, raising anticipation for what promises to be one of Kartik’s most ambitious projects.
Despite a busy schedule, the actor is managing his commitments efficiently, also working on Anurag Basu’s next directorial this month. Known for his dedication, Kartik has planned his dates carefully to ensure smooth progress on both films.
Naagzilla also marks Kartik’s reunion with Dharma Productions after their upcoming romantic comedy Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri, co-starring Ananya Panday, which releases on December 31, 2025.
