Karan Johar’s magnum opus period drama, Takht, has been in the making for years and last year, it was reported that the project has been shelved altogether. However, according to recent developments, the makers are determined to make it as big as it gets and Kareena Kapoor Khan is likely to start filming for Takht in October.
Takht is touted to be one of the biggest movies of Bollywood with an ensemble cast of Ranveer Singh, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Alia Bhatt, Vicky Kaushal, Bhumi Pednekar, Jahnvi Kapoor, and Anil Kapoor. However, given the vast cast, the makers struggled with getting dates of the actors. Ultimately, it was informed that the project has been shelved due to complications in the production. However, according to the latest report, Karan Johar’s ambitious project is alive and will go on the floors soon.
Kareena Kapoor Khan, who took a break from work for her second pregnancy, is reportedly getting back on the sets in October and if rumour mills are to be believed, she will kick-start shooting of Takht as her first project post the break. However, there has been no official announcement has been made regarding the project finally getting on the floors.
To be helmed by Karan Johar, Takht will revolve around the Mughal rivalry for the throne between Aurangzeb and his brother Dara Shikoh. The movie was earlier slated to begin filming in 2020 but due to the pandemic, it was pushed indefinitely.
