The directorial debut of Karan Johar, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, is one of the most iconic movies of Bollywood which was released two decades ago. Starring Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol and Rani Mukerji in prominent characters, the romantic drama remains everyone’s favourite but Karan Johar has no plans to remake it.

The director-producer has made it clear many times that he has no plans to remake the film with a new cast but when asked, he revealed his casting preference if Kuch Kuch Hota Hai had to be remade. Talking about the same, Karan Johar said that if he would have to cast Rahul again then Ranveer Singh would be his first choice as he has the mad intensity of Shah Rukh Khan.

KKHH remake

For the characters of Anjali and Tina, Karan suggested the names of Alia Bhatt and Janhvi Kapoor, respectively. However, even though he has a wishlist for the new cast, he does not want to recreate the classic hit as it was a masterpiece.

On the work front, Karan Johar is working with Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt and Janhvi Kapoor among the ensemble cast of Anil Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor, Bhumi Pednekar, and Vicky Kaushal for his upcoming directorial, Takht.
