Kangana Ranaut is currently one of the most talked-about celebrities on the micro-blogging website for her controversial statements on everything under the sun. The actress has been active on the social media platform since the unfortunate demise of Sushant Singh Rajput and also in the news for her portrayal of political leader J. Jayalalithaa. Following her political interest, she has signed another biopic on the political leader and former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi.

Confirming the same, Kangana Ranaut said, “Yes, we are working on the project and the script is in the final stages. It is not the biopic of Indira Gandhi, it is a grand period film, to be precise a political drama that will help my generation to understand (the) socio-political landscape of current India”.

The actress further mentioned that her upcoming untitled political drama is based on a book but refrained to name the book. “Many prominent actors will be part of this film and of course I am looking forward to playing the most iconic leader that we have had in the history of Indian politics,” added Kangana Ranaut.

Helmed by Sai Kabir, the movie is said to be mounted on a large scale covering Operation Blue and Emergency. The biopic is expected to go on the floors by the last quarter of the year.
