One of the keenly anticipated movies of the year, K.G.F: Chapter 2, premiered this Friday and wreaked havoc at the theatres with the audience swarming in for the show. The movie starring Yash and Sanjay Dutt managed to set a new record for the highest opening day in Hindi cinema and minted a total of 53.95 crores on Friday. However, the craze for the movie has pushed the limits of the theatre owners to accommodate more fans.
The second instalment to the blockbuster K.G.F franchise had record-breaking advance bookings for the shows and the trend continues to prevail with good initial response and positive word of mouth. The film has entered the 100 crore club in the domestic market in just two days of run and the trade analysts are expecting a Tsunami. The theatre owners are finding it hard to live up to the demands of the movie fans and many special shows at odd hours have been added to accommodate the high demand. However, shows past midnight and as early as 6 am are not enough to cope with the hype.
According to reports, certain B and C centres are overflowing with the audiences to an extent that extra seats are being added to adjust the extra audience. There are also reports from some locations in Tamil Nadu that the audience is watching the movie standing or sitting on the floor when they are not able to book a seat.
Released in multiple languages and across over 10000 screens worldwide, K.G.F: Chapter 2 is likely to shatter all records known in the Indian film industry and become the highest-grossing movie of all time. Helmed by Prashanth Neel, the action drama features Yash, Srinidhi Shetty, Sanjay Dutt and Raveena Tandon in key roles among others.
