Johnny Depp is best known for playing the character of a dishonest pirate, Captain Jack Sparrow, who had been the leading character in the Pirate Of The Caribbean franchise. However, after losing a Libel trial against a Tabloid that called him a ‘wife-beater’, production house Disney announced he will not be a part of the future instalments of the franchise. However, the latest reports suggest that the makers are reconsidering their decision.
Johnny Depp enjoys a huge fan following and after losing his case against the domestic violence allegations, the netizens boycotted Amber Heard and supported Johnny Depp with online petitions. One such petition signed by over 500,000 fans demands the makers of the Pirates Of The Caribbean franchise to recast Johnny Depp as his iconic character of Captain Jack Sparrow.
Although there have been no official developments regarding the same so far, reports suggest that the makers are working on a deal with the actor to save the upcoming projects in the franchise from the wrath of his fans. If some rumours are to be believed, Johnny Depp might make a comeback in the franchise which has as many as 10 projects in the works. However, other reports also quash such rumours and claim that the character of Jack Sparrow is no more in the franchise.
