Hollywood action franchise, John Wick, has been one of the most sought-after revenge drama with probably the most number of headshots in any action movie. While the third instalment of the Keanu Reeves starter franchise ended on an unexpected note and promised a bigger premise for the fourth part, the fans can rejoice as the makers have announced one more instalment to the action series.
While the makers had announced the release date of John Wick Chapter 4 earlier this year, Lionsgate recently confirmed working on the fifth instalment of the movie which is expected to be shot simultaneously with the fourth. In an interaction with Screen Rant, CEO of the production house Jon Feltheimer said that they are busy preparing scripts for the next two instalments of their John Wick franchise. While they also confirmed that John Wick 4 is slated to hit the theatres on the Memorial Day weekend in 2022, they are trying to shoot both the upcoming movies back to back.
Currently, Keanu Reeves is busy with the fourth instalment to the iconic Matrix franchise and the makers of John Wick are expecting the actor to become available early next year. If everything goes as expected, Keanu Reeves will shoot for John Wick 4 and John Wick 5 from start to end shoot schedule. Meanwhile, the ongoing pandemic has slowed down the production of the movies making the production timeline complicated for the makers and the actors as well.
The third chapter of the much-loved actioner, John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum, had its initial release on May 9, 2019, with a massive response from the franchise lovers. Former American stuntman, Chad Stahelski, made his directorial debut with the first instalment of John Wick and will helm the upcoming chapters as well.
