On the occasion of Eid-Ul-Azha, Pakistan is set for three big banner movies – Jawani Phir Nahi Ani 2, Parwaaz Hai Junoon and Love Wedding to entertain their audience and movie lovers. All the 3 movies star some of the very popular television stars and theater artists. Going by the trailers of each one of them, the production quality and expense looks quite high.
As much as Pakistani television shows, artists and Coke studio are popular and have a market of its own, their movie industry is slowly emerging and picking up its pace. Pakistani Movie industry popularly known as Lollywood saw one of its most expensive and biggest releases last month, Ali Zafar and Maya Ali starrer ‘Teefa In Trouble’, which also had Indian film production company ‘Yash Raj Films’ as its international distributor.
Nadeem Baig’s ‘Jawani Phir Nahi Ani 2’ by ARY Films is a sequel to his first part of the same movie title in 2015. The film is a romantic comedy which also has an inclusion of cross border love story in it. The leading cast of the movie includes Ahmed Ali Butt, Humayun Saeed, Fahad Mustafa, Vasay Chaudhary, Kubra Khan, Marwa Hoccane, Sarwat Gilani, Uzma Khan. Fawad Afzal Khan and Mehwish Hayat will be seen doing cameos in the movie. Indian film, television and Theatre actor Kanwaljit Singh will be playing the Indian counterpart as Kubra Khan’s father in the movie.
Parwaaz hai Junoon by Hum Films is Hamza Ali Abbasi, Hania Aamir, Ahad Raza Mir, Shaaz Khan starrer patriotic entertainer is a tribute to their country’s Air force officers, that revolves around the lives of four Pakistani Air force pilots, their cadet life, love for their nation and individual romances.
Load Wedding is another Fahad Mustafa and Mehwish Hayat starrer Social romantic comedy this Eid. The movie is supposed to be highlighting social stigmas and restraints attached to weddings, but in a light hearted and satirical narrative.
