Renowned veteran actress Shabana Azmi met with an unfortunate accident on Saturday and was rushed to the intense care unit. While the news broke down the entire entertainment industry into tears, the actress is to have improved since her admission to Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani hospital. While many big celebrity names from the Bollywood fraternity visited the injured actress, they were not allowed to meet her.
Providing an update to Shabana Azmi’s health, poet-writer and her husband, Javed Akhtar, issued some fragments of information and said that the actress will be released from ICU on Tuesday. “She is in the ICU and she’s not allowed visitors. But she should be out of the ICU by Tuesday. She is responding very well to the treatment. Providentially, there were no internal injuries. But her face is badly bruised,” said the writer.
Javed Akhtar also thanked the entire nation and Prime Minister Narendra Modi for their prayers and said, “I am thankful to everyone who has stood by us during this sudden setback. Shabana is strong. She has fought her way out of the injury.” He further cleared the air on the controversy revolving around the media for being insensitive to the situation and papping an injured Shabana Azmi. He said, “It’s not the media. They were passerby taking pictures of her.”
