Both Ishaan Khatter and Mrunal Thakur have proved their mantle in the Bollywood film industry with their performances in their respective movies. While both the actors have a lineup of upcoming movies, the Gen-Y actors are coming together for the first time for a war-drama to be helmed by Raja Krishna Menon.

Ishaan Khatter and Mrunal Thakur will be playing the onscreen siblings in the war-drama titled Pippa. The movie is based on the book The Burning Chaffees by war veteran Brigadier Balram Singh Mehta and Ishaan is to portray him in the action drama. Along with Mrunal Thakur, Mirzapur 2 fame Priyanshu Painyuli will also play sibling to Ishaan Khatter’s character Brigadier Mehta who fought on the eastern front during the Indo-Pakistan war of 1971.

“Pippa is a story that chronicles an Indian victory in 1971 through the eyes of the Mehta family and signing on fine actors to essay the members of this brave family was our foremost priority. I’m glad we have talented actors like Mrunal and Priyanshu on board, who along with Ishaan will spearhead this story of triumph that needs to be told,” said co-producer, Ronnie Screwvala, who will be bankrolling the project with Siddharth Roy Kapur.

Starring Ishaan Khatter, Mrunal Thakur and Priyanshu Painyuli, Pippa will be helmed by Airlift director Raja Krishna Menon and is slated to hit the theatres next year.
