American actress Scarlett Johansson has been an integral part of Marvel’s Cinematic Universe and after a great reception for her portrayal of the comic book-based character Black Widow, the makers decided to make a full-fledged movie around her. However, after the last moment hybrid release of the movie, the actress filed a lawsuit against the makers.

Scarlett Johansson has been the crowd favourite amongst the MCU fans and everyone had been eagerly waiting for the release of the movie, Black Widow. However, due to the ongoing pandemic, the makers decided to opt for a hybrid release which has allegedly costed Scarlett over INR 370 crores. As a response to the last-minute decision, the actress has sued the production house, Disney.

Disney in response issued a statement against Scarlett’s claim and even revealed her salary for the movie. The reports also suggest that MCU head honcho Kevin Feige has been told to avoid Scarlett in future MCU movies. In the row of unexpected and shocking developments, Scarlett’s agent Bryan Lourd has opened up on the ongoing controversy on behalf of the actress. “They have shamelessly and falsely accused Ms. Johansson of being insensitive to the global COVID pandemic, in an attempt to make her appear to be someone they and I know she isn’t,” his statement read.

He further added Disney had attempted to weaponize her success as an ‘artist and businesswoman’ by including her salary in their press release. Clarifying the suit further, Bryan added, “This suit was filed as a result of Disney’s decision to knowingly violate Scarlett’s contract. They have very deliberately moved the revenue stream and profits to the Disney+ side of the company leaving artistic and financial partners out of their new equation. That’s it, pure and simple.”
