2020 has been a rough year for everyone alike but it has proved one of the worst for the American actor Johnny Depp. After losing a Libel trial against a Tabloid that called him a ‘wife-beater’, production houses are reconsidering working with him and he was dropped from the Fantastic Beasts franchise. The latest reports suggest that production giant, Disney, has rejected his cameo in the upcoming instalment to Pirates Of The Caribbean franchise.
According to a report published in We Got This Covered, one of the producers of the Pirates Of The Caribbean has pitched the idea of including a cameo of Johnny Depp reprising his most loved character of Jack Sparrow. However, the production house Disney reportedly rejected the proposal without having a second thought about his previous contribution to the franchise. The character of Captain Jack Sparrow is iconic to the Pirates Of The Caribbean franchise and one of the biggest reason for its success. However, the upcoming instalment in the making has Margot Robbie playing the lead lady pirate with no Jack Sparrow in the picture, while details of the other upcoming instalment are kept under wraps.
For the unversed, Johnny Depp was accused of physical abuse to ex-wife, Amber Heard, by a popular tabloid. However, things got worse when the actor sued the tabloid and lost the Libel trial. Post the backlash, production house Warner Bros pulled its association with Johnny Depp in the upcoming instalment of Fantastic Beasts creating a furore.
