Designer duo Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla lately served their patrons to their diffusion collection ‘ASAL’ at Amiraah, Kanpur city’s biggest multi-designer store. ASAL takes forth the vision and the design philosophy of the parent brand, couture with detailed embroideries, and features handiwork in a variety of styles.

The founder of Amiraah, Pooja Gupta presented the designer at the store which is aesthetically very Indian with a Ganpati idol set at the entrance. The 5,000 sq ft. store that is divided into three sections- Indian wear, Indo-western and bridal wear section is organised with some of the biggest labels in the fashion industry like Tarun Tahilani, AM-PM, Namrata Joshipura, Anushree Reddy and many others.

On the sidelines of the event, Abu Sandeep talks about the fashion forecast for Summer 2021.

The biggest and the most important trend to follow is to be yourself and not indulge in revenge dressing. The designers recommend dressing fabulously for yourself, live freely and fully with no regard for those who don’t matter. The duo also suggests ditching any trend which feels alien to your personal style. One shouldn’t put on a look/design only because it is the flavour of the month.

“>Secondly, the designers see weddings as joyous celebrations and an occasion to treat ourselves and our loved ones to beauty. The clothes and events should be refined, and original with an acute devotion to details. To them, small weddings are even more wonderful and custom. With the raging pandemic according to the duo, weddings should best be postponed or kept small and local if the postponement isn’t possible. Destination weddings should definitely be avoided as it calls for ample travelling for guests and vendors which is highly risky.

For, WFH fashion culture, the designers recommend their label Gulabo which includes comfortable and yet stylish separates that can be mixed and matched to add fun to relaxed outfits.

When it comes to the retail experience in small towns like Kanpur, the designer feels delighted to bring forward their creativity and new collections through events. They are convinced that there is huge excitement and passion for style outside the metro cities as well and they are routinely expanding their reach to bring the world of Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla to the connoisseurs across India. The designers feel are blessed to always find savvy and enthusiastic clientele wherever they head.
