While Taapsee Pannu and filmmaker Anurag Kashyap are busy filming their second collaboration, Dobaaraa, Income Tax Department has conducted a raid at the residences of the actor-director duo. There are also reports of filmmaker Vikas Bahl’s residence being raided by the IT department as well.

According to reports, the Income Tax Department conducted raids at the residences of Taapsee Pannu and Anurag Kashyap on Wednesday in connection to Kashyap’s production house, Phantom Films. There are reports of around 30 simultaneous raids being conducted in and around Mumbai for alleged tax evasion.

Premises of Phantom Films and other filmmakers linked to an event management company are under the scanner of the income tax department and being searched thoroughly. “There have been instances of tax evasion. The movies produced by the production house have been superhit, but the profits and account statements of the company are showing disproportionately low income,” a senior income tax department official said.

The official has also informed that the income tax raids are not conducted against the individuals but against the entities where they hold ownership or shares.
