Meezaan Jaffrey made his Bollywood debut with Sanjay Leela Bhansali directorial Malaal and after getting critical acclamation for his performance in the movie, Meezaan is all set to diversify his acting with his next in the comedy genre. The actor will be sharing screen space with Shilpa Shetty, veteran comedian, Paresh Rawal, and Pranitha Subhash in prominent characters.

While Meezaan is currently busy shooting for the movie, he went candid about his experience working with the renowned filmmaker, Priyadarshan, who is making his comeback in Bollywood after a self-imposed sabbatical of 7 years. The actor shared his excitement on working with the director known for comedy masterpieces like Hera Pheri, Bhool Bhuliya, De Dana Dan, Bhagam Bhaag, Dhol, Chup Chup Ke, and Garam Masala. Meezaan Jaffrey said that he signed the movie without even reading the movie script since Priyadarshan is helming it.

“Comedy is one of the most difficult genres and Priyan sir (Priyadarshan) shoots in a unique way. You are given the dialogues just before the shot. He shows you how to play it out on camera and you just have to follow his cues. Nobody knows what is happening on the set except him,” he added. The actor further revealed that he sought advice from Akshay Kumar during the shooting of Sooryavanshi and the superstar suggested him to follow the director with eyes closed. “He (Akshay Kumar) confessed that whatever he has learnt about comedy is from the filmmaker,” Meezaan added.

The makers of Hungama 2 recently unveiled the first look poster of the comedy-drama and it hit the right notes among the audiences. Reportedly, the movie will also recreate the iconic song Chura Ke Dil Mera from the Akshay Kumar starrer Main Khiladi Tu Anari. Helmed by Priyadarshan, the movie is slated to release on the 14th of August 2020.
