Music composer and rapper, Yo Yo Honey Singh, has produced a variety of party anthems but his one track with the ‘King of Bollywood’, Lungi Dance, became the greatest hit of his music career. However, Honey Singh recently revealed that Shah Rukh Khan initially didn’t like the iconic track and someone else convinced him to put his money on it.

Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone starrer comedy-drama, Chennai Express, was a blockbuster at the box office and a major contribution to its enormous success went to the promotional track produced by Yo Yo Honey Singh. Lungi Dance became an instant hit when it surfaced on the internet and the peppy party rock anthem was loved by one and all. However, Shah Rukh Khan didn’t like the track initially and thought that the song will not sail.

In an exclusive conversation with an entertainment portal, Bollywood Hungama, Yo Yo Honey Singh revealed that he was approached by Shah Rukh Khan through a mutual friend to make something for his comedy-drama, Chennai Express. However, when Honey Singh proposed Lungi Dance to the superstar after brainstorming for two months, SRK disliked the song and didn’t give his nod. “He listened to the song but he did not like it,” Yo Yo Honey Singh said.

Shah Rukh Khan, however, gave it another try and made his son, Aryan Khan, listen to the song before coming to a conclusion. While the junior SRK did approve the composition, Bhushan Kumar also insisted that the song will work out and pushed Shah Rukh Khan to give it a chance. With approvals from his son and T-series head, SRK featured in Lungi Dance and included it in his movie and the rest is history.

On the work front, Yo Yo Honey Singh recently released his much-awaited music video, Loca, which has been bankrolled by T-series as well. Despite receiving mixed reviews from the audiences, the video track became a trend owing to the popularity of the musician.
