Ranveer Singh and filmmaker Rohit Shetty are collaborating for the third time for an epic comedy-drama, Cirkus, based on the classic play of William Shakespeare titled Comedy of Errors. While Ranveer is playing the lead in the anticipated movie, the Rohit Shetty directorial comprises of an ensemble cast of Pooja Hegde, Jacqueline Fernandez, Varun Sharma, Siddhartha Jadhav, Johnny Lever, and Sanjay Mishra among others. However, before the casting was locked, an important role was offered to Rajkummar Rao which he declined.

As per an insider report, the role of Varun Sharma was earlier offered to Rajkummar Rao but given his popularity and in-hand projects, the actor declined the offer to play a second fiddle to Ranveer Singh’s character. After Rajkummar Rao, the role was offered to the brother of Aparshakti Khurrana but he cited date issues for not being able to be a part of the comedy-drama. Lastly, the role was bagged by Fukrey famed Varun Sharma and he came on board for the movie.

Talking about the movie, Cirkus is Rohit Shetty’s take on Shakespeare’s play and an adaptation on the classic hit comedy, Angoor. the movie stars Ranveer Singh opposite Pooja Hedge and Jacqueline Fernandez in the female leads. The movie is expected to go on the floors soon and is slated to hit the theatres in the last quarter of 2021.
