K-pop group ENHYPEN will continue as a six member act following the departure of Heeseung, who has decided to pursue a new chapter in his career as a solo artist.
The announcement was made on March 10, 2026 through the group’s official social media channels. Their agency, BELIFT LAB, shared that the decision came after detailed discussions with the members about the group’s future direction and individual artistic goals. According to the statement, it became clear during these conversations that Heeseung wanted to explore a distinct musical path of his own.
The agency explained that the decision was reached after extensive deliberation and mutual understanding. Heeseung will remain under the same label and will begin working on his solo album, marking the start of his independent musical journey.
ENHYPEN was formed through the survival show I-LAND and officially debuted on November 30, 2020 with their mini album Border: Day One and its lead single Given-Taken. The original lineup included Heeseung, Jay, Jake, Sunghoon, Sunoo, Jungwon and Ni-Ki. Heeseung, the eldest member of the group at 24, had been an integral part of the team since its debut, even though leadership responsibilities were held by Jungwon.
The group recently released their seventh mini album, THE SIN: VANISH, on January 16, 2026. The album quickly achieved commercial success, selling around 1.65 million copies on its first day and reaching No. 2 on the Billboard 200 chart. It will now stand as the group’s final release as a seven member lineup.
The announcement has surprised many fans, especially as it arrives just before potential contract renewal discussions between the group and their management company. Addressing ENGENEs, the group’s fandom, the agency acknowledged that the news may be difficult to process and could bring mixed emotions among supporters.
While Heeseung begins preparing for his solo career, ENHYPEN will continue their activities as a six member group, marking the beginning of a new phase for both the artist and the team.
