Jawan, the upcoming release starring Shah Rukh Khan, has been the talk of the town since the success of his last film, Pathaan. Set to release on June 2, there were high hopes that its promotional campaign would kick off in early May. However, recent developments suggest that the film might not make it to the cinemas on the said date.
According to a source close to the production house, there has been no intimation from Red Chillies Entertainment as to when the promotions will start. It has added to the speculation that the movie is getting postponed. The fans were expecting a teaser or trailer of the movie as it is inching towards its promised release date but no promotional material is out yet.
According to reports, Jawan will now be released on June 29 instead of the earlier June 2 date. This move could help the film gain from a four-day weekend and benefit from the Bakri Eid holiday on its release day. The postponement of other films like Yodha and Dream Girl 2, which were slated to release on July 7, has led to rumours that these movies were pushed to avoid a clash with Jawan.
However, there is still some confusion over the release date as Kartik Aaryan and Kiara Advani starrer Satyaprem Ki Katha is also scheduled to hit cinemas on June 29. As of now, there has been no official word on whether this film is moving from this date. Industry insiders are eager for an announcement from Shah Rukh Khan or Red Chillies Entertainment regarding the release date of Jawan.
