Gul Panag is everything between a mother, a wife and an actor, an enthusiastic rider, and also a certified pilot. She has served some period in politics as well and is a serial half-marathon runner. Gul has also voiced National Geographic’s specials titled “Tiger Queen Of Taru” and “On The Brink.” In spite of being so popular, she underplays the tag of being a role model.

Panag believes that it is necessary for people to take their own role as role model more seriously and diligently. She explains that when she uses the word ‘role model’ it is not just about herself only because she is a public figure. She rather thinks that it is more about each one here who is a role model because of the inequity in India with regards to access to opportunity for women, just the capacity for a woman to decide what she wants to do in her day is something she full doesn’t have an access to.
She calls each woman a role model to many others and says that women are an important part of our ecosystem and they are all role models to other women who are not able to grab the opportunity to realise what they would want to do in their life next minute. She believes that everybody carries some responsibilities on their shoulders and they must try to work with it incredibly.

Additionally, Gul also reminds us that there are times when taking a difficult path is an option people must be exercised because while choosing that path we make it easier to be picked by somebody else as well who wants to go through it. It leads to a lot of confidence-building within the person. She also thinks that the duty of being a good role model who takes the road less taken stays on their shoulders and one must be enough responsible to make it easier for someone else to follow.

Gul admits that it is a difficult task to be a pioneer and a creator of something, but stressed that being one involves a great sense of courage and responsibility and one must take a dive if they have the golden chance to do so.
