Spanish brand Gimaguas, produces one of the Instagram dresses of summer 2020, which is a knitted tangerine and magenta halter-neck, navel-skimming top version from the Été collection. The twin sisters, Sayana and Claudia Durany, are popular in bringing out sensual and sun-soaked aesthetic in their garments.

The brand Gimaguas, is currently a hot thing among the fashion-forward Gen-Zers with items being retailed at £400. Claudia and Sayana‘s latest Miami nightlife-inspired collection was a collaboration with New York-based graphic designer Tessa Forest. A few Instagram DMs and Gimaguas x Sublime was off the ground. The twins believe that Instagram is the new way of working and building relationships in fashion.

Their eight-piece, mood-boosting capsule collection, took over five months in the making. Claudia tells that it happened very naturally as the two sisters share a close bond and balance each-other out. Above that, she tells that being surrounded by the countryside and nature has always inspired their work.

Their ethics have resulted in thigh-grazing miniskirts, square-neck dresses and swimwear presenting itself with Forrest’s hazy prints of dreamy sunsets. Their drop is an ode to the east-coast night and it inspired the sisters who travelled to Miami before the lockdown, last year. They say that they fell in love with the sunsets and it was beautifully reminiscent of Barcelona in regards to being a city near the beach, bright colours and architecture. This resulted in micro miniskirts to sleek, minimal sets, where the silhouettes are interpreted into balmy weather and warm summer nights. The Sublime collection is made entirely from recycled polyester.

The brand also believes that it is important to work with people who invest faith in its project and understand it. The designers feel that social media is a great tool for collaboration after they reached out to the graphic designer, Tessa Forest through Instagram who has created two designs for our capsule collection, inspired by the sunset that radiates positivity and warmth. The twin designers want their platform to display inspiring work which helps in building an authentic community.

Bella Hadid, Kendall Jenner, Solange Knowles and Iris Law are amongst their muses. The brand will also drop a men’s collection by June, which will consist of a talent programme in collaboration with visual artist Ema Gasper to encourage the customers to submit T-shirt designs.
