The first instalment of Netflix’s interpretation of Sherlock Holmes and his family in the 2020-release, Enola Holmes, turned out to be an unexpected gem for the Sherlock fans. While the movie had Sherlock’s sister, Enola Holmes, as the protagonist, the makers are keen on exploring the personal life of the world-famous fictional detective, Sherlock, in the sequel.
Enola Holmes managed to attract positive reviews with its entertaining plot and a different take on the Holmes family while introducing Enola, the youngest sibling to Sherlock and Mycroft. A week ago, the makers announced a sequel to their 2020 release with the leads reprising their characters. Although the fans are already hooked on the announcement, the makers are in no mood to leave any stone unturned to make it the next big universe. According to a report, Wonder Woman Gal Gadot has been approached to play a key role in Enola Holmes 2.
As per a report published in We Got This Covered, the makers are keen on exploring more on Henry Cavill’s portrayal of the great detective in the sequel and introduce Irene Adler, the love interest of Sherlock Holmes. Reportedly, Gal Gadot has been approached to play the femme fatale in the sequel and add more screen presence to Sherlock. However, following the success of the first instalment of the franchise, Enola Holmes played by Millie Bobby Brown will remain the central character of the movie.
