Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma has always been engulfed with controversies for all the wrong reasons. Adding to his list of troubles, the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) has decided to not work with the director in the future after he failed to clear dues to artistes, technicians, and workers related to the industry.
As per the board members of FWICE, a legal notice was sent to Ram Gopal Varma with the details of the technicians and their pending payments in September last year. However, the filmmaker didn’t respond to the notice and neither clear the dues. The members claim that they had also sent several letters to Ram Gopal Varma regarding the pending payments but the director refused to take the receipt of the letters.
BN Tiwari, President of FWICE, said, “We also sent a letter to the Chief Minister of Goa on September 10, 2020, regarding this. We wanted Ram Gopal Varma to clear the dues of poor technicians, artistes and workers but he never did.” Ram Gopal Varma was shooting for a movie in Goa when BN Tiwari had approached the Chief Minister of Goa. “Hence, we have decided to not work with him in the future. We have also notified Indian Motion Pictures Producers’ Association (IMPPA) and Producers Guild of India (GUILD), among other unions about this,” he adds.
