Jallikattu is gearing up for its world premiere next month at the Toronto International Film Festival as the movie will be screened under the ‘Contemporary World Cinema’ category.
The movie helmed by Lijo Jose Pellissery presents a portrait of a remote village in his hometown where a buffalo escapes and causes a frenzy of ecstatic violence as read in the description at the Toronto International Film Festival website.
The first look posters shared by the makers are visually striking and builds the hype for an unorthodox plot. In one of the still, actor Antony Varghese can be seen stuck in the middle of what it seems like a stampede as he is covered in mud, while the other poster resembles the evolution of man. In the third poster, a buffalo can be seen escaping a burning village.
The story is penned down by the Global Filming Award winner Geethu Mohandas along with Anurag Kashyap and stars Antony Varghese, Sabumon Abdusamad, and Chemban Vinod Jose. The movie is directed by Lijo Jose Pellissery.
