Haryanvi singer and dancer, Sapna Choudhary, rose to fame after her participation in the celebrity-based reality show, Bigg Boss, and became a household name. However, after years of her eviction from the show hosted by Salman Khan, she finds herself in legal trouble as her former celebrity manager, Pawan Chawla, has accused her of misappropriation of funds.
The Economic Offences Wing of Delhi Police registered an FIR against the singer and others after Pawan Chawla filed a complaint against her. Pawan Chawla, the director of a celebrity managements and events firm, claims that Sapna Choudhary defaulted emergency loans with a cumulative amount of 3.5 crore INR from him during their association.
“The accused persons have committed breach of trust and misappropriated huge amount collected by organising several events clandestinely. The intention of the accused was to extract money by way of loan extended to over Rs 3.5 crore on the pretext of emergent need for purchase of house and other emergencies,” the FIR stated.
According to Pawan Chawla, Sapna Choudhary approached him for work and an exclusive artist management agreement was drafted between the two in 2018. During their association, the Haryanvi singer and her mother took multiple loans citing emergencies and other reasons but never returned the full amount despite several commitments.
