Indian filmmakers are capitalizing on the success of the Chandrayaan-3 mission, a recurring trend in the nation’s cinema that centres on real-life events. This time, the spotlight is on India’s triumphant moon landing, and production houses are racing to secure film titles linked to the mission.
Requests for film title registrations have flooded prominent industry bodies such as the Indian Motion Picture Producers Association (IMPPA), Producers Guild of India, and Indian Film and Television Producers Council (IFTPC) in Mumbai.
Noteworthy titles that have been registered include “Chandrayaan-3,” “Mission Chandrayaan-3,” “Chandrayaan-3: The Moon Mission,” “Vikram Lander,” and “Bharat Chand Par.”
As reported by News 18, an official from IMPPA has stated that they are meticulously reviewing each application and intend to grant approval exclusively to genuinely deserving titles. They remain cautious due to the situation following the Pulwama attacks, where numerous titles were registered, but only a few corresponding films or web series emerged.
IMPPA officials are committed to endorsing titles that serve the public’s interest, ensuring that the upcoming films accurately reflect the significance and essence of the Chandrayaan-3 mission.
