The fees of Bollywood celebrities have frequently been a topic of public discussion, from the amount they charge for a film to the pay disparities within the industry. The COVID-19 pandemic has affected the Hindi film industry, particularly in light of the box office successes of South Indian films like KGF 2, Kantara, and RRR. Producers in Bollywood have often spoken out about actors refusing to lower their fees during this time of crisis at the box office. Recently, T-Series head Bhushan Kumar has shared his thoughts on the matter.

Bhushan Kumar, the head of T-Series, one of Bollywood’s top production houses, spoke out about actors demanding high fees to be signed in a film. He criticized actors and stated that while some actors understand the market, others ask for 20-25 crore, but the producers have to bear the loss.

Bhushan Kumar pointed out that a large number of people have incurred losses in big films, and questioned why the producer should give money, potentially experiencing loss, while the actors earn a significant amount. “In which we are also earning, the project is also safe, the project is not becoming heavy. But jahaa pe project aapka cost itni cost nahi le sakta, waha pe hum actors se baat kar rahe hai (But in a place where your project cannot cost so much, we are talking to actors there),” he concluded.

Previously, Karan Johar had also spoken about this issue and criticized Bollywood actors for charging 20 crores and only providing a 5 crore opening at the box office. The filmmaker stated that it is not a film that fails, but its budget does. He gave the example of SOTY and mentioned that he used to take a pill every night.
