Yash Raj Films to distribute Vicky Kaushal’s Chhaava globally, Set for Valentine’s Day 2025 release

Yash Raj Films (YRF) has acquired the international distribution rights for the much-awaited historical epic Chhaava, featuring Vicky Kaushal...

After receiving positive response and love from the audience for her movie and performance in 2014’s Mardaani, Rani Mukherji is all set to star in the sequel of  the same.

Directed by Pradeep Sarkar, Mardaani was a fiesty cop drama dealing with the social evil of child trafficking where in Rani played the character of  Shivani Shivaji Roy, a non corrupt and no nonsense senior inspector in crime branch.

Yash Raj Films recently made an official announcement regarding the making of the movie’s sequel and confirming the news film trade analyst Taran Adarsh also posted about it on his twitter handle.

The sequel of the movie will be produced by Aditya Chopra and will be directed by Gopi Puthran who wrote the script of the first film. Rani is said to be very excited to start shooting for the sequel, as the first part was pretty close to her.  Also, this is one of the rare Bollywood movies that surely deserves a sequel.

Tahir Raj Bhasin who portrayed the main antagonist in the movie was appreciated for his cold-blooded antagonism, which also proved as a breakthrough character for him. However, it would be interesting to see who is set to be cast in the sequel to play the antagonist.

Rani who was last seen in the film Hichki last year, gave a wink at the plot of the upcoming sequel where she mentions about her character Shivani facing a merciless evil who fears no one. It would be a real treat for the fans to see the actress back again as a fearless brave cop fighting against deadly villains.

The shooting of the movie will start very soon and most probably be releasing in the mid of 2019.
