Redo Times brought the third edition of Feronia Fashion Night in association with Avantika University, Ujjain and It by It professionals, Jaipur. The fashion show was held on 1st September 2019 at The Grand Bhagwati Palace, Indore. Feronia Fashion Night is an initiative to raise awareness on the very sensitive topic of gender equality and LBTQ inclusiveness. It is a first of its kind event that showcases Androgynous Fashion – A form of fashion that focuses on breaking the archaic gender stereotype.
This is the only event in India that features all the models from the LGBTQ community providing the models with a platform to showcase their talents and get further opportunities. The event featured collections from top fashion designers from India and around the world including names like the ever magnificent and super innovative Padma Raj Kesari.
A designer whois a part of the Feronia Family, this was the third time his collection is gracing the ramp of Feronia Fashion Night. Padma Raj Kesri is a name that is ringing a lot of bells in the fashion industry. A pioneering designer who regularly presents at Lakme Fashion Week, Padma Raj Keshri from Ahmedabad is well known in the textile industry for bringing contemporary designs, exploring new craft clusters, working with artisans on-field and bringing the new ideas from its origin.
He was the finalist for Wool Runway organized by Wool Mark Company, Australia. He was also awarded the National Design Award organized by Gokaldas Exports at Bengaluru and was also awarded for Let’s Design Season -05 organized by Cotton council International & FDCI. He is also the representative of External affairs ministry to present India at the prestigious collections abroad and is setting up sustainable design courses in leading college across the world.
An achiever beyond the etched boundaries of fashion, Padma Raj’s collection was all about being simple and developing a range of up-cycled garments and re-using them. Titled – The “Re_Denim” project, his collection is about the waste fabric mainly involved in the postproduction of waste denim pieces. A model citizen, Padma Raj made a statement on two of the most relevant social issues of modern times – Environmental Awareness and LGBTQ rights.
