The trio of Fardeen Khan, Akshay Kumar, and Sajid Nadiadwala delivered the blockbuster laughter riot Heyy Babyy in 2007, and the audiences have been eager to see them reunite for another comedy-drama for a long time. After his last release, Dulha Mil Gaya, in 2010, Fardeen Khan took a sabbatical from acting but has since returned to the entertainment industry with the Netflix series Heeramandi. While the fans are excited about his return to acting, Khan has already completed filming his next Bollywood movie Khel Khel Mein reuniting with Akshay Kumar and, if sources are to be believed, he is also on board for the fifth instalment of the Housefull franchise.

To be helmed by Tarun Mansukhani, Housefull 5 is touted to be a laughing riot with a huge cast of superstars including Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh, Sanjay Dutt, Nana Patekar, and Abhishek Bachchan in key roles. According to a source close to the development of the project, Fardeen Khan has been brought on board marking a reunion of the trio of Akshay Kumar, Fardeen Khan and filmmaker Sajid Nadiadwala.

According to the report published by Pinkvilla, there were several contenders for the role in question, including Arjun Ramphal, and Fardeen Khan was finalized to play the part and join the Housefull universe. With Khan now part of the male ensemble, the makers are now eyeing actresses to complement the star-studded lineup. The first leg of shooting is scheduled to begin in the last week of August and will be filmed in London.

As pre-production nears completion, the makers are aiming for a June 6 release next year. In addition, Fardeen Khan will also share the screen with Akshay Kumar in his next Khel Khel Mein, which is underway post-production. Fardeen also has the drama movie Visfot, helmed by Sanjay Gupta, in the pipeline, where he reunites with another Heyy Babyy co-star Riteish Deshmukh.
