The entertainment industry faced a huge loss today as we lost one of the biggest gems of our country, Irrfan Khan. Renowned and critically acclaimed actor, Irrfan Khan, passed away at Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital on Tuesday at an age of 54.
Filmmaker Shoojit Sircar took to his social media handle to confirm the unfortunate demise of Irrfan Khan and wrote, “My dear friend Irfaan. You fought and fought and fought. I will always be proud of you.. we shall meet again.. condolences to Sutapa and Babil.. you too fought, Sutapa you gave everything possible in this fight. Peace and Om shanti. Irfaan Khan salute.”

Irrfan Khan was recently rushed to hospital after his health deteriorated and reportedly collapsed in his home. It was reported that the actor suffered a severe colon infection and was admitted in the ICU. Although the spokesperson rubbished news of his critical health hours ago, the news of his demise has left millions of his fans broken across the globe.
The Hindi Medium actor was diagnosed with a neuroendocrine tumour in the year 2018 and was going through treatment for the same. Although the actor was recovering from his illness, his health deteriorated amid the nationwide imposed lockdown and he reportedly complained of difficulty in breathing. He was accompanied by his wife, Sutapa Sikdar, and two sons, Babil and Ayan, in his last times.
Irrfan Khan has been one of the greatest superstars that India has produced and his talent crossed borders. In a career span of decades and making a name in the global entertainment industry, the actor has been a part of several international blockbusters such as Slumdog Millionaire, Jurassic World, The Amazing Spider-Man and Life of Pi. Co-starring Kareena Kapoor Khan and Radhika Madan, Homi Adajania directorial Angrezi Medium marks the last released movie of Irrfan Khan.
He will forever be remembered in our hearts as one of the biggest actors in the history of Bollywood.
