The country is fighting one of its greatest wars against the novel Coronavirus and every day, we are losing many lives in the unfortunate battle. While the frontline workers are working day and night to help those in need, the entire country is united to help the frontline workers and COVID patients get their hands on the necessities. Amid a severe shortage of oxygen in the most affected states of the country, a group of entrepreneurs launched a crowdfunding campaign to procure oxygen concentrators.
The group of startup founders known as Gurgaon Entrepreneurs launched the campaign on the Indian online crowdfunding platform, Ketto, to raise INR 2.5 crore for 500 concentrators. However, with their efforts in this humanitarian campaign and support from the netizens as well as celebrities like Taapsee Pannu and Abhishek Bachchan, the campaign has already collected almost INR 4 Crore to source oxygen concentrators for Delhi NCR and Mumbai.
The other entrepreneurs leading the efforts to raise the fund and support those fighting the battle against COVID-19 are Rahul Agarwal and Varun Agarwal of Designhill, Deepansh Malhotra and Harshit Malhotra of EntNetwrk, and Cuttlfish founder Shikher Gupta among others. Already raising INR 3 Crore with their campaign, the group of entrepreneurs are now aiming for collecting INR 5 Crore to procure as many oxygen concentrators as possible.
The team who started the initiative said that orders for 500 concentrators have already been placed which will be delivered to hospitals by Wednesday. The team are also in talks with the logistics startup Delhivery and others to make the oxygen concentrators available to the patients as soon as possible. The concentrators being procured have 10 litres per minute capacity which are currently unavailable in India due to the sudden enormous demand.

The team of entrepreneurs had earlier reached out to as many doctors as they could to understand the current situation in the hospitals and learnt that there is a requirement of over 3000 oxygen concentrators in Delhi NCR and Mumbai alone. Delhi and Maharashtra are currently taking the worst hit from the COVID-19 pandemic and with the lack of oxygen tanks and concentrators, the situation has become critical for those in requirement.
This is an initiative for the country and it’s the least we can do right now. So please contribute whatever you can and hopefully, we all can save some lives together.
