Emraan Hashmi, after a brief hiatus, is back in the spotlight, expanding his horizons in the world of cinema. Last year, he made headlines by joining the cast of the highly anticipated Tiger 3 alongside Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif. Additionally, his recent venture, Ae Watan Mere Watan, starring Sara Ali Khan, made its debut on OTT platforms. Despite exploring diverse genres, Hashmi was recently questioned about the possibility of Jannat 3. Here’s his response.
Before venturing into diverse roles, Hashmi solidified his status as a charismatic romantic lead, gaining fame through films like Murder and Aashiq Banaya Aapne. Among his successful works, the Jannat franchise continues to have a dedicated fan following, with reports hinting at a potential Jannat 3. However, these reports remained speculative, and the project never materialized.
In a recent interview with Hindustan Times, Emraan Hashmi discussed the prospects of Jannat 3. While expressing his enthusiasm for the project, he voiced concerns over the creative divide between Mahesh Bhatt and Mukesh Bhatt, stating, “I would love to do that, probably old wine in a new bottle.” However, he highlighted the necessity for the Bhatt brothers to reconcile for the project to proceed, a scenario he finds unlikely. He added, “It’s a team, right? If by some stroke of luck or miracle that happens, it will happen.”
For the uninitiated, Mahesh Bhatt and Mukesh Bhatt have collaborated on numerous successful films under their banner, Vishesh Films. However, reports of differences between the two led to their split in 2021. Notably, both Jannat and Jannat 2 were produced under the Vishesh Films banner. As Hashmi suggests, fans can only hope for a miraculous reconciliation between the brothers to pave the way for Jannat 3.
On the professional front, Emraan Hashmi is set to star in Pawan Kalyan’s upcoming film, They Call Him OG. Additionally, he has secured a role in Adivi Sesh’s G2, further solidifying his presence in the industry.
