With the early monsoon bringing a spike in waterborne diseases, Bollywood actor Emraan Hashmi has reportedly tested positive for dengue. The actor was in the middle of filming his upcoming Telugu debut, OG, when he started feeling unwell.
According to close sources, Emraan was shooting in Aarey Colony, Goregaon (Mumbai), when he began experiencing symptoms consistent with dengue. On his doctor’s advice, he underwent medical tests, which confirmed the diagnosis.
Being the committed professional he is, Emraan promptly informed the film’s team about his condition and apologised for the delay in the shoot. The OG crew has been supportive, urging him to prioritise his health over the production schedule.
Currently resting at home, Emraan is expected to be out of action for at least a week. Once fully recovered, he will return to the set and resume his role in the film.
OG marks a major milestone for Emraan as he steps into Telugu cinema for the first time. He plays the antagonist opposite superstar Pawan Kalyan, with Priyanka Mohan as the female lead. The film is being directed by Sujeeth (of Saaho fame) and produced by DVV Entertainment, the banner behind RRR.
OG is slated for a worldwide theatrical release on September 25.
