The revenge saga, Ek Villain, was undoubtedly one of the greatest hits of the year 2014 which starred Sidharth Malhotra, Shraddha Kapoor and Riteish Deshmukh in the prominent characters. Earlier this year, it was confirmed that the makers have decided to take the franchise to another level with an unexpected standalone sequel.

While it was confirmed that John Abraham and Aditya Roy Kapur will be sharing the screen space for the highly-anticipated actioner sequel, Disha Patani recently joined the ensemble cast of Ek Villain 2. The latest report has it that the makers have finalized on the second female lead in the actress Tara Sutaria, who made her Bollywood debut under the Dharma Productions banner.

If reports are to be believed, Disha Patani will be cast opposite John Abraham in the movie while Tara Sutaria will be paired with Aditya Roy Kapur. Interestingly, Disha Patani and Aditya Roy Kapur shared the screen space in their last release, Malang, which was helmed by Ek Villain director, Mohit Suri, as well. While the plot for the sequel is kept under wraps, a source close to the development of the movie has revealed that Tara Sutaria will be portraying the character of a singer owing to the fact that the actress is actually a trained Opera singer.

With another movie in the Villain universe of director Mohit Suri, the makers have made it clear that the movie will have no ‘Hero’ but only ‘Villains’ in the revenge-drama. With a promising star cast, Ek Villain 2 is slated to release on the 8th of January 2021.
