Akshay Kumar has been the crowd favourite for years as the actor manages to do every genre of movies. However, his upcoming release, Prithviraj, has found himself embroiled in controversy for its title along with the makers. While Kshatriya Mahasabha has been protesting against the title of the movie, they burnt effigies of the actor and the makers in Chandigarh.

For the unversed, the Akhil Bharatiya Kshatriya Mahasabha has been demanding the makers to change the title of the upcoming period drama based on the life of Emperor Prithviraj Chauhan. The Mahasabha claims that a singular word title doesn’t justify the greatness of Prithviraj Chauhan and insults the last of the Hindu emperor.

The Kshatriya Mahasabha has demanded the title of the movie be changed to ‘Hindu Samrat Prithviraj Chauhan’ or ‘Emperor Prithviraj Chauhan’ to give respect to the great warrior. While the makers have refused to comment on the demands, the organization burnt effigies of the lead actor Akshay Kumar along with the producer and director.

Helmed by Dr Chandraprakash Dwivedi, Prithviraj features Akshay Kumar in the titular character and also marks the debut of former Miss World Manushi Chllar as Sanyogita, wife of the emperor. The movie has been postponed due to the ongoing pandemic and now the makers plan to release it in November next year.
