While social media continue to argue over the latest Bollywood controversy between KJo and Kartik, we find out the actual reason as to why Karan Johar took the decision to not work with the actor in the future. Fans have divided themselves into two- one group favours the director, whereas the other group slamming and trolling him for the particular move. People are coming up with many theories regarding Kartik Aaryan. Some make rounds with Kartik being unprofessional and creating a hassle for the director due to his recent breakup with actress Janhvi Kapoor. But the actual reason seems to have something more to it.

It all started in 2019 when Kartik Aaryan was given Dostana 2 at about ₹2-3 crores and looking at his market value right now, he has an upside potential of ₹10 crore. Initially the actor, midway, asked KJo for a hike in the fee due to an increase in his market value in the last two years but he came across to be an unprofessional actor to Karan Johar who believed that it was not right to renegotiate the remuneration midway. Johar tried to settle this and promised to compensate him with another film called Mr. Lele. Kartik agreed to this but shockingly, without any notice, he was replaced by Vicky Kaushal for the same. Added to this, Kartik was unhappy with the Dharma Production when Shahid Kapoor was given Shashank Khaitan’s Yoddha. Shahid ended up quitting the film but Kartik was never approached for the role.

Owing to the disappointment, Karan made Kartik an offer for another film which is a cricket story directed by Sharan Sharma based Gunjan Saxena. Kartik didn’t want to be dropped out of the film this time so he requested Karan to sign a contract with him. Kartik also did not start the shoot for Dostana 2 and KJo didn’t push him for it as the former gave reasons for the COVID 19 pandemic. But when Kartik shot for the film Dhamaka, Karan was discontent and called a meeting with him. Kartik pointed out that he would only shoot for Dostana 2 if Karan signed him a deal of Sharan’s next. Clearly, there was a total lack of trust between the two and KJo couldn’t commit to the film until the screenplay and the script were locked.

Karan decided that from April onwards, he would start the shoot with Vicky Kaushal and Janhvi Kapoor for the film Mr. Lele. Further, when Kartik heard of this, he notified Dharma Productions that the only dates available with him for Dostana 2 this year was from April onwards. Karan understood what Kartik was only creating trouble for him and called him out on that. He was really knocked over at Kartik with Janhvi struggled to pick between Dostana 2 and Mr. Lele. This finally led to a major fall out between the two and things went cold.

While Karan thought Kartik to be unprofessional, Kartik felt underpaid and cheated because KJo didn’t keep his promise of offering him a second film. Kartik also ended up developing problems with Janhvi Kapoor, due to their breakup. Even if all the issue would resolve, things went too far and ugly and already and Karan had to drive out Kartik Aaryan from Dostana 2.
