Dwayne Johnson aka The Rock started his acting career with the action-adventure drama, The Scorpion King, which released in the year 2002. After almost a decade, the wrestler turned actor will be revisiting memories of his debut with a reboot of The Scorpion King.
As per the latest report on Deadline, Dwayne Johnson is working towards the reboot of his debut movie which is being penned by Oscar-winning writer Jonathan Herman. “The Scorpion King was my very first role ever on the silver screen and I’m honored and excited to reimagine and deliver this cool mythology to a whole new generation,” Dwayne Johnson said.
“I wouldn’t have had the career I’m lucky enough to have had it not been for The Scorpion King and I’m thrilled that we at Seven Bucks Productions can help create those same opportunities for other hard-working actors today. I believe Jonathan Herman will put in the hard work to deliver a fantastic script for our global audience,” he added.
The reboot will be bankrolled by Dwayne Johnson and Dany Garcia under the production banner of Seven Bucks Productions in association with Universal Pictures. Meanwhile, the actor is currently busy shooting for Netflix’s comedy-thriller Red Notice which also stars Gal Gadot and Ryan Reynolds in key roles.
