Ayushmann Khurrana has announced a new release date for the highly anticipated film, Dream Girl 2. The sequel to the 2019 comedy film Dream Girl, which starred Ayushmann Khurrana, was initially scheduled to release on 7th July 2023. However, the actor took to his Instagram account on Monday morning to share the news that the film’s release date has been postponed. Dream Girl 2 will now release in theatres on 25th August 2023.
In his Instagram post, Ayushmann Khurrana shared a note announcing the new release date. The note was accompanied by an audio message from his character ‘Pooja’ in the film. The caption read, “Pachees badi hai mast mast, kyunki @pooja___dreamgirl aa rahi hai on 25 अगस्त. #PoojaKiKissOnAug25 #DreamGirl2 releasing in theatres on 25th August, 2023.”
The delay in the release date is reportedly due to the extensive VFX work required for the film. The VFX work is crucial for Dream Girl 2, as the film features Ayushmann Khurrana playing the role of Pooja and Karam. The team wants to ensure that the character’s appearance is seamless and convincing. Ektaa R Kapoor, Joint Managing Director – Balaji Telefilms Limited, said, “We want to ensure that our viewers get the best possible experience when they watch the movie.”
