Fans have been eagerly awaiting Don 3, with Ranveer Singh taking over the iconic role after Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan. While the film was announced in 2023, rumors of production delays had been circulating. However, director Farhan Akhtar has now confirmed that the project is very much on track.
In a recent interview with India Today, Farhan put the speculation to rest, stating, “I’m not avoiding any questions. Don 3 will begin filming this year, and 120 Bahadur is set to release by year-end.”
Last November, Excel Entertainment also dismissed rumours of delays, reaffirming that both the makers and Ranveer Singh were aligned on the film’s schedule. Their statement emphasized, “The timelines for Don 3 remain unchanged. Any news of postponement is false. The goal is to deliver a cinematic spectacle that honours the franchise’s legacy while pushing new boundaries.”
The official announcement of Don 3 in 2023 introduced Ranveer Singh as the franchise’s new lead, accompanied by a special teaser video. The actor also shared a childhood photo of himself recreating the character at home, expressing his gratitude for the opportunity. He wrote, “I understand the immense responsibility of carrying forward the Don legacy. I hope audiences give me a chance and shower me with the same love they’ve given my characters over the years.” Kiara Advani is set to star opposite him in the film.
Ranveer Singh was last seen in Rohit Shetty’s Singham Again, which hit theatres during Diwali 2024. Meanwhile, Farhan Akhtar is gearing up for the release of his upcoming production, Superboys of Malegaon, featuring Adarsh Gourav, Vineet Kumar Singh, Shashank Arora, and Anuj Singh Duhan. The film is scheduled for a theatrical release on February 28.
