DJ Aqeel who is popular for his remixes feels that the remixes today are not able to make a connection with the audience.
He says that the remixes today fail to create a connection with the audience. as they lack the essence of connecting to someone’s soul. This particular thought keeps him indulged in experimenting and his album Nostalgia consists of music that remixes old songs with this generation modern essence.

Aqeel rose to fame with remixes like “Keh Du Tumhe”, “Tu Tu Hai Wahi” and “Shake It Daddy Mix” in the early 2000s. His music journey so far had been a roller coaster but with all the highs and lows he has tried his best always to come out with high spirit because he loves to consistently create for his fans and audience. That, he says, is what keeps him going. He said that the right music makes all the difference. Further, he also says that he has faced a lot of challenges in this industry but they have always pushed him and motivated him to come up with something more innovative, each time while retaining the essence of music.

Commenting on how his music has evolved, he says that when he started out there were just a few deejays but now it’s like a hub out there. He says that he has worked extremely hard to reach where he is today and it has been very exciting for him to see the fresh talent coming in and changing the scene dynamically.

According to Aqueel, the youth of today who prefer Bollywood music are also now moving towards other genres like electronic and hip-hop. With that evolution, he also composes something new every time similar to his recent show at the Taj Mahal.

Sharing his experience of shooting in the Taj Mahal, Aqeel revealed that shooting in one of the seven wonders of the world was one of the best experiences of his life And it had him feeling overwhelmed when he got permission and approval from our government.

He was also surprised and happy at the response which he received from the fans. Additionally, he reveals that cinematic life at Taj Mahal on his birthday eve was a huge success, which made it a special one because audience from different parts of the world joined the premiere. It was the best gift he could ask for as an artist.
