Last week, popular television actor Pearl V Puri was arrested in connection with the rape case of a minor. He has been booked under the POCSO Act and is currently under judicial custody.
Divya Khosla Kumar is just one of the many celebrities who have spoken out in solidarity with ‘Bepanah Pyaar’ actor Pearl V Puri. The said incident allegedly took place on the sets of the show ‘Bepanah Pyaar’ in the year 2019. The victim, who was a minor, is said to have visited the sets of the show along with her mother who was a part of the cast. This allegation has definitely come across as shocking and has taken the Indian entertainment industry by storm, but the TV Industry is somehow convinced that the actor is being framed.
The actor has been arrested under The Protection Of Children from Sexual Offences Act(POCSO) and has been placed under judicial custody. Many actors like Nia Sharma, Ekta Kapoor and Aly Goni have already lent their voices in support of the actor. Now, the ‘Sanam Re’ co-star, Divya Khosla has also spoken out in support of the accused.
Divya Khosla has also reminded everyone about the condition of Pearl V Puri’s mother, saying that the actor lost his father not long ago and says, “his mother calls me and just cries and cries asking for my help. I feel helpless and angry. I know Pearl well, we’ve worked together. He is a good human being, sincere and hardworking. He does not deserve this.”
The actress has also claimed that all of this is just being done to settle scores. “These are simple God-fearing people from Agra who have no idea how to tackle the situation”, she added. She said that she was glad and grateful to actors like Ekta Kapoor who spoke up for Pearl. She also said that more people need to come out in support of Pearl “because truly I believe he is innocent. What is done to him by some vested interests is horrific”. She also compared this case to the alleged suicide of Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput. “I didn’t know Sushant but my heart reached out to him. In this case I know Pearl. I am convinced he can’t do something so awful. He is being used to settle scores,” Divya Kumar Khosla concluded.
