Diljit Dosanjh has reportedly stepped away from the much-talked-about sequel to the 2005 comedy hit No Entry. According to Filmfare, the singer-actor was initially excited to be a part of the project, which also stars Varun Dhawan and Arjun Kapoor, but has now exited, citing creative disagreements.
A source quoted by the portal revealed, “Diljit was really looking forward to working with Varun and Arjun, but over time, he felt he couldn’t align with the film’s creative direction. That led to his decision to part ways with the team.”
No Entry 2 is being directed by Anees Bazmee, who also helmed the original film, and is being produced by Boney Kapoor. When approached for comment, Bazmee neither confirmed nor denied the development, stating, “I can’t speak on the matter right now. It would be best to check with Boney Kapoor.” As of now, Kapoor hasn’t responded to the report.
The sequel is expected to feature Varun Dhawan and Arjun Kapoor in leading roles. Tamannaah Bhatia is also reportedly part of the cast and is believed to be playing a character similar to Bipasha Basu’s role from the original, although this has not been officially confirmed.
Released in 2005, No Entry was a laugh riot featuring Salman Khan, Anil Kapoor, and Fardeen Khan, along with Lara Dutta, Esha Deol, Celina Jaitly, and a memorable appearance by Bipasha Basu. The film centred around two married men who get entangled in a web of lies and confusion when a friend introduces them to a mysterious woman.
While No Entry 2 was initially eyeing a 2025 release, the recent changes in casting may delay official announcements and timelines.
