Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar franchise has officially rewritten the record books, emerging as the highest grossing Indian film franchise of all time. With the phenomenal performance of its first two instalments, the series has crossed a massive 2500 crore mark at the worldwide box office.
The journey began with Dhurandhar, which was released in December 2025. Despite a relatively modest opening day, the film witnessed extraordinary growth driven by strong word of mouth. Over time, it went on to deliver a staggering lifetime total of 1354.84 crore globally, far exceeding expectations.
Building on that success, Dhurandhar 2 arrived with massive anticipation and delivered an explosive start, earning over 200 crore in its opening phase. The sequel has continued its strong run, collecting 1159.76 crore worldwide in just nine days. With momentum still intact, the film is expected to comfortably cross the 2000 crore mark in its full run.
Combined, the franchise has now reached a total of 2514.6 crore globally. In doing so, it has surpassed the long-standing record held by the Baahubali franchise, which had a combined total of around 2450 crore worldwide.
What makes this achievement even more remarkable is how the franchise has grown largely on the strength of its content and audience reception. At a time when big budget spectacles often rely on star power alone, Dhurandhar has proven that strong storytelling can drive sustained box office success.
With the sequel still performing strongly in theatres, the franchise is now on track to achieve another milestone. It is expected to become the first Indian film franchise to cross the 3000 crore mark globally.
Here is a quick look at the worldwide performance so far:
- Dhurandhar – 1354.84 crore
- Dhurandhar 2 – 1159.76 crore in 9 days
Total – 2514.6 crore
With numbers still rising, Dhurandhar has firmly established itself as one of the biggest success stories in Indian cinema history.
